Orange is supporting Moldova’s third consecutive annual Startup Weekend, which is set to take place from November 16-18 in Chisinau. This year, new partner Alliance Française de Moldavie will host the event at its premises.
The Startup Weekend represents both a challenge and a great opportunity for young people hoping to start their own ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) business.
The aim of this competition is to give the participants a chance to showcase their talents as they are given a set amount of time in which they must work as a team to develop a web or mobile application and a business plan for marketing it. Throughout the event, experienced professionals are on hand to provide support to the participants.
Programmers, graphic design specialists, project managers and marketing experts as well as professionals involved in developing activities within social media and mobile applications have all been invited to take part in the competition.
The creators of the most interesting projects will be rewarded by Orange and other event partners, while the highest ranking team will be given the opportunity to compete in an international competition which brings more than 130 teams together from various countries.
At the last Startup Weekend, which took place last June, of the 40 projects that were presented, 11 went on to be developed.
