Orange, sponsor of the Quai Branly museum in Paris, supports the museum in its digital experimentation projects, in order to find new forms of use.
the “Museum in Music” app
Thanks to the “Museum in Music” NFC app, Orange and the Quai Branly museum offered a new experience to people visiting the “Spring vacation, digital museum” exhibition in April 2012.
The app offers a variety of specific audio and video content relating to the museum’s collection of musical instruments: a behind-the-scenes look into the reserve containing 10,000 musical instruments, and around fifteen instruments found on the four continents of the Collections Area: sound excerpts, manufacture, play situation, carved motifs and so on.
Content becomes available simply by moving the NFC-enabled telephone close to the desired tag.
The app is now available to download free of charge on Google Play.
