As an official partner of the French Open for the 9th year running, Orange is helping tennis fans to follow the tournament, get the latest news and access the world of the Roland-Garros on the screen of their choice – whether mobile, tablet, PC or TV.


Orange 4G at the French Open for the first time

Orange 4G will be available to spectators at the Philippe-Chatrier court for the first time, giving customers access to super-fast data connections from their seats. Orange will also be demonstrating its 4G services to the general public at its stand (on Allée Suzanne Lenglen), showing how to make the most of the Open via the Orange TV and official French Open applications on Orange 4G.

up to seven courts broadcast live on TV, smartphones, tablets and computers, in partnership with France Télévisions to experience the French Open to the fullest

Orange is offering an exclusive "multi-court" package for smartphones, tablets and ADSL TV. It will be produced and edited by France Télévisions, and up to 7 channels (1) will be available to Orange customers across multiple screens:

  • on Orange TV: view matches taking place on all 7 main courts on channel 83 (channels 213 and 219 edited by France Télévisions),
  • on smartphones and tablets: Orange mobile customers in France have live, exclusive access to the event on the channels produced and edited by France Télévisions featuring the matches on the 5 main courts, through the official free application (2) available to iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, Android smartphones, and other smartphones via the Orange World mobile portal,
  • on PCs through orange.fr and on XBOX 360 (3) consoles: matches on the 7 main courts broadcast live and simultaneously through the "multi-court" offer produced and edited by France Télévisions.

the 2013 French Open official application on 4G for the first time

For its 5th edition, the official application (4), co-developed by Orange with the Fédération Française de Tennis and in partnership with IBM, provides all Orange customers with the opportunity to watch live broadcasts of any of the matches on the 5 main courts. This year, Orange customers with a passion for tennis and a 4G/H+ contract will be able to enjoy all the beauty of the game thanks to HD quality video with 4G from Orange (5) .

Like last year, all tennis fans with a smartphone and / or tablet, whatever their operator in France or abroad, will have access to:

  • “player alerts" to follow their favourite players and watch them enter the court live,
  • video highlights from each day of the tournament, interviews and a backstage link with Dailymotion,
  • integrated Twitter and Facebook features to follow the buzz on court and connect with friends during the matches

As always, fans will have unbeatable coverage of the tournament with real time scores, tournament table and results, interviews, VoD commentary and highlights, and official French Open radio.

French Open NFC services

For the second year running, Orange is making NFC (Near Field Communications) services available for visitors to the French Open, giving them access to practical and fun services with an NFC phone: finding your way around the tennis courts, guide to points of interest, tournament programme, restaurant menus, information about events, booking a beach tennis session, downloading the official French Open application, anecdotes on the history of the tennis courts and more NFC events to discover on site.
The Fédération Française de Tennis, in association with its partners BNP Paribas, MasterCard and Orange, deploys Contactless Payment Terminals in the whole stadium. Visitors who already own NFC-enabled devices and having subscribed a mobile payment solution will be able to use them to make purchases throughout the restaurants and shops during the tournament.
