Orange now offers 100% broadband internet coverage in mainland France

Paris, January 12, 2009
Orange, through its subsidiary NordNet, is launching a new “Internet Satellite Pack” for € 34.90 per month, including the dish.

The Internet Satellite Pack is a bi-directional broadband connection solution by satellite that allows any inhabitant of mainland France to connect to broadband internet for less than € 35 per month.

The subscription includes the loan of a satellite dish and a Wi-Fi router and enables access at speeds of up to 2MBps and the exchange of up to 2 GB of data per month (allowing reading, for example, of 10,000 web pages and the exchange of 2,000 e-mails per month).

100% broadband coverage. After the success of the France Telecom plan, Broadband for all, that had already put France in the number 1 position in Europe with 98.4 % of the population able to enjoy ADSL access, the Internet Satellite Pack today enables the achievement of 100% coverage. Orange is offering, through its subsidiary NordNet, an ideal solution giving everybody, even those not able to enjoy ADSL access, rapid access to the internet for less than € 35 per month, wherever they may be in mainland France. Thus the Group is contributing to the first action point (“every French citizen, wherever they live shall, by 2010, enjoy the right of access to broadband internet at affordable prices of around 35 Euros per month, inclusive of the equipment needed for access”) of the “France Digital 2012” plan announced by the French government on 20th October 2008.
