All that TV from Orange on the iPhone has to offer
From 7 April, all Orange customers with an iPhone will be able to watch TV from Orange. With the “TV from Orange” application, Orange will offer access to more than 60 TV channels on the IPhone including the French national channels, TNT channels and thematic channels.
A unique TV experience
With the “TV from Orange” application, Orange is offering its customers an intuitive experience of mobile phone TV in high definition mobile quality*.
Thanks to the quality of the 3.5 inch screen and a fun tactile interface, Orange customers will be able to tarnsform their iPhone into a real mobile television and watch their favourite programmes at any time, wherever they are.
Customers can upon one of the 60 available channels instantaneously, change channels very easily with the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen or with coverflow***, and access a full and detailed programme guide in a single click. Easy to download from the Apps Store, the application can be launched directly from the iPhone home screen. The application "TV from Orange" is available on the EDGE/3G/3G+ networks from Orange.
20 TV channels in unlimited access with the new range of Origami Star plans for the iPhone**
At the same time, on 7 April, Orange will launch a new range of payment plans: "Origami Star for the iPhone" based on the model of Origami Star plans which have been a great success since they were first launched.
5 ”Origami Star for iPhone” plans from €42** per month will be available including:
- unlimited Internet access
- unlimited e-mails with attachments
- unlimited Visual Voicemail
- unlimited Wi-Fi in mainland France across the 30,000 Orange Wi-Fi access hotspots
- unlimlited access to more than 20 TV channels**
- unlimited SMS across all mainland operators from 8pm to 8am and at weekends
- unlimited calls across all operators from 8pm to 8am and at weekends (3h plan or higher)
These new payment plans will be available to all iPhone customers. Customers who prefer to keep their current offer may subscribe to the TV option (€6 / month) or TV max (€9 / month), or watch TV on their iPhones on a pay-as-you-go basis. In this case, they will be billed depending on their use and according to their plan rates: by volume (1 cents/10Kb), or per session (50 cents/20 minutes).
How do I download the “TV from Orange” application onto my iPhone?
1. Download the “TV from Orange” application from the Apps Store in the “Entertainment” section. It will automatically be added to the list of icons accessible from the iPhone home screen.
2. Launch the “TV from Orange” application by touching the icon on the iPhone home screen
3. Select the TV channel: view the programme, together with various information
such as the start and end times, a summary and the possibility of changing channels
using the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen
4. Access the programme in full screen mode and in high definition mobile quality*
5. Possibility of changing programmes at any time, using the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen or with coverflow** and displaying all the available programmes
* Reception and reception quality on mobile TV depends on the mobile cover at the customer's location and the number of people connected at the same time. High definition mobile quality is determined by a combination of a 250kpbs video coding rate, the MPEG4 video standard (and its future developments) and an QVGA screen. This quality is available on the 3G/3G+ network with a compatible handset.
** List of TV channels subject to change. Unlimited apart from live matches, and modem use, content and services which are subject to charges. Orange may limit throughput beyond a reasonable volume of 1 Gb/month up to the billing date. Rate with 24-month commitment, offer also available with a 12-month commitment.
*** Developed by Apple, coverflow is a 3D interface which is used to surf through a library via significant representations such as album covers for the iPod or TV from Orange channel logos for the iPhone.
- This new application, available for downloading from the Apps Store, will provide Orange customers with the opportunity of accessing more than 60 TV channels live in high definition mobile quality*.
