Salzburg Dom and OrangeIn Austria the Group holds a 35% stake in ONE GmbH via the consortium with Mid Europa Partners, which the Company purchased in October 2007. In 1997 ONE acquired the third Austrian mobile phone licence and in November 2000 a UMTS licence with a 20 year term.
As of mid 2008 ONE had some 850 employees and around 2 million mobile phone customers representing approx. 20% market share.
The Company has 98% GSM/GPRS network coverage.

As of December 31, 2007 it provided all towns of over 5,000 inhabitants and 80% of all communities of over 2,000 inhabitants with mobile broadband.

ONE was the first Austrian operator to offer downloads of entire music tracks to UMTS mobile phones via its mobile entertainment platform www.ladezone.at. One of the first real benefits that ONE, as part of Orange group, offered its customers as early as the beginning of Euro 2008 was genuine mobile phone TV with DVB-H. In the corporate business, ONE is market leader in mobile PABX, which offers small companies a cheap and flexible alternative to fixed line and with a mobile fixed line offers an ideal replacement for a fixed line.

2007 mobile phone sales amounted to € 624 million. As of December 31, 2007 the Company had invested over €2 billion.
At the end of August 2008 the name change from One to Orange was announced which was the prelude to one of the biggest advertising campaigns in Austria in 2008.
