Romania

In Romania, Orange offers mobile services and is the leader on its market with 10,3 million customers at the end of December 2008, including more than 1,5 million on mobile broadband.
The mobile network now spans 80% of the country (316 towns and cities) and reaches 97% of the population.
In March 2007 Didier Lombard launched the Orange Romania Foundation.
In June 2007 Orange in Romania celebrated its 10 th birthday of the commercial launch of its services .
The same month, Orange Romania launched 3G+ mobile data services allowing speeds up to 3.6 Mbps. It is another major step in the development of broadband mobile services to offer its customers a new experience for comfort and mobile uses. As of 25 June 2007, broadband mobile services were available in 10 cities: Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Brasov, Craiova, Iasi, Oradea, Galati and Ploiesti. By the end of the year, Orange will extend broadband coverage to all of its customers who are located in capital cities and the main mountain resorts. Orange offers access to broadband mobile services for both subscribers and PrePay customers. Orange customers can use broadband services on their mobile phones, on laptops, enjoying full mobility, and on desktop computers, at fixed locations such as at the office or at home.
The 14th of March 2008, Orange celebrated the milestone of 10 million Romanian customers, in the presence of the Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Didier Lombard.
With more than 30 Orange Shops, the Group covers a simplified range of products and services with an extensive dealer network.
