In Slovakia, Orange Slovensko offers mobile services and is the leading mobile operator with more than 2.9 million customers at the 2007/12/31.

 

Orange operates across the most extensive mobile network in Slovakia, covering 99.6% of the population and 86.8% of the territory.

Orange is the leading provider of mobile data services in Slovakia, operating mobile data networks in GPRS/EDGE standards and also a 3G UMTS mobile network with the best coverage. Orange was the first operator in Slovakia to introduce broadband internet access and data transmission based on HSDPA technology allowing its customers a mobile broadband experience.

 

 

In March 2007, Orange Slovensko announced the deployment of a country-wide fixed telecommunication network based on FTTH (fibre to the home) technology in Slovakia. Already this year, Orange will be ready to offer its customers with new multimedia services for information and entertainment.

 

Orange is trialing the triple play concept under the Orange Homebox service name for a few months, covering 15,000 households. Orange Homebox is a home digital entertainment gateway including three services for a single monthly fee: the fastest internet access to households in Slovakia with speeds up to 30 Mbit/s, Digital TV and fixed telephony.
