Switzerland

In Switzerland, Orange offers mobile and internet services. With more than 1.5 millions customers at the end of December 2008, Orange Switzerland is the second largest mobile operator in Switzerland.
Customers benefit from 47 Orange Centers, around 80 Orange Points (shop-in-shop) at the end of 2009 following the takeover of citydisk in November 2008 and over 5,000 partners point of sales across the country.
With UMTS, Orange offers broadband mobile services with transmission rates of up to 384 Kbit/sec for two years. Together with even faster HSDPA connections, Orange will thus strengthen the experience and the comfort, with an offer available in the cities of Lugano, Geneva and Zurich. By the end of the year, Orange will provide high-speed mobile network standard HSDPA for over half the population of Switzerland. Together with UMTS coverage, over 90% of the population will be able to use mobile email, surf the internet and download music, games and videos to their mobile phones at speeds similar to ADSL.This technology enables mobile Internet connections at up to 1.8 Mbit/sec. for mobile phones and laptops.
In June 2007, Orange has expanded its portfolio with fixed-line services and is now offering Internet access via ADSL with the Livebox.
The Livebox offers secure Internet access and can be connected wirefree to several computers for easy Internet surfing throughout the entire house. With its gateway, Orange provides the ideal solution for families, private networks and small businesses.
Besides, during the Autumn 2008, Orange Switzerland portal gets a makeover.
