Orange's activities
In Poland, the Group provides fixed-line, internet and television offers through the TP Group.
Orange provides mobile services. With an estimates 30,5% market share at 2009 December 31, Orange is the mobile market leader in Poland with almost 14 million customers, including more than 5,5 million on mobile broadband.
The Group is developing a range of convergence offers, such the Livebox tp has been available since 2006 and is opening up a whole world of new services that have never been seen before in Poland, with Internet telephony, ADSL television, video on demand, or game downloads.
In Poland, the group also drives innovation through the Orange Labs network. Within Telekomunikacja Polska (TP), TP R&D carries out telecommunications research and development to support its important Eastern European market. In October 2009, TP S.A. and the Polish electronic communications authority UKE signed an agreement in principle related to the establishment of procedures to ensure non-discrimination and transparency in interoperator relations without resorting to the functional separation of TP S.A.'s operations. Under this agreement, wholesale rates for regulated services will be frozen by the UKE until 2012 and TP S.A. will create 1.2 million broadband lines during that period for a capital investment estimated by TP S.A. at 3 billion zlotys, or 724 million euros at 31 December 2009.
