| Jean-Dominique Comolli member representing the French State Born in 1948, having been a Civil Administrator in the French Budget Department from 1977, then a Technical Advisor for the cabinet of the Minister of State for Budget Affairs, overseeing social system funding issues, as well as the health and social welfare policy, the employment policy and agricultural affairs, in 1983 Jean-Dominique Comolli became a Special Project Manager then Technical Advisor for the French Prime Minister's cabinet in charge of budgetary matters. From 1986, he served as Assistant Director of the Budget Department, then in May 1988, he was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff for the Minister of the Economy, Finance and Budget, and lastly in July 1988, he became Chief of Staff for the Minister of State for Budget Affairs. In September 1989, Jean-Dominique Comolli was appointed Director General of Customs and Indirect Duties in the Ministry of Budget Affairs, then, in December 1993, Chairman and CEO of Société Nationale d’Exploitation Industrielle des Tabacs et Allumettes (SEITA), which was privatized in February 1995. From December 1999 to June 2005, he was Co-Chairman of ALTADIS (the Altadis group was created through the merger of SEITA and the Spanish Tabacalera group), before serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors of ALTADIS and SEITA from June 29, 2005. From July 2008 to September 14, 2010, he was also Vice-Chairman of Imperial Tobacco’s Board of Directors. Since September 15, 2010, Jean-Dominique Comolli has been Commissioner for State Holdings and Director General of the State Holdings Agency (APE). He was appointed to sit on France Telecom’s Board of Directors by a decree dated September 15, 2010. His term of office will run through to September 14, 2014. He is also a Director of Air France-KLM, AREVA, EDF, the French strategic investment fund (FSI), SNCF and Etablissement public de l’Opéra Comique. |
