Pascal Faure 46, began his career in research and development with BELL Laboratories (US), before joining Apple Computers and then the French National Telecommunications Research Center (France Telecom/CNET) as a project leader on communication security and cryptology. From 1992 to 1995, Pascal Faure worked at the Ministry of Budget on credits for administrative IT policy. He was subsequently appointed as the technical adviser in charge of budgetary affairs, tax, employment and regional development for the Ministry of Tourism, before being appointed as the Minister for Regional Development, Urban Affairs and Integration. From 1997 to 2001, Pascal Faure served as executive head of development, financial affairs and assistant to the chief executive of the Groupe des Ecoles des Télécommunications. He was then appointed deputy technical director at the Ministry of Defense. Alongside this, he served as Chairman of the French Association of Telecommunications Engineers from 2000 to 2006. In 2007, Pascal Faure was appointed as Vice-President of the General Council for Information Technology. On February 1 2009, Pascal Faure was appointed as Vice-President of the General Council for Industry, Energy and Technology (CGIET), which was formed as a result of the merger between the General Council for Mining and the General Council for Information Technology. Pascal Faure is an Ingénieur Général des Mines, and a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications de Paris. Pascal Faure has been awarded the Legion of Honour and the National Order of Merit. |
