The Call of the Poles is an international campaign launched by the NGO Le Cercle Polaire. Its aim is to unite political, scientific and artistic endeavours undertaken by key figures from all over the world committed to achieving better governance for the Polar Regions, the Arctic and the Antarctic. The Call of the Poles was not created around a declaration. It grew from an abiding belief: the high latitudes are ideal areas for fostering or consolidating international cooperation. From Kiev to Nuuk, via Quito and Seoul, the Call of the Poles brings to light the existence of a global awareness of the fragility of the Poles which provide us with an opportunity to manage our planet differently.
The Call of the Poles created a group on Facebook which just integrate People Projects application to facilitate the aggregation of all those who want to join and support this campaign.
People Projects
People Projects it’s a new Facebook application that lets people communicate with their network and create groups online that want to support, or be part of community projects. In line with Orange’s brand vision “Together we can do more”, the new service is making it possible for individuals to call on the internet community to contribute to their projects – connecting people through volunteering in a powerful way.
The new service encourages web users to discover a number of initiatives where they are based, get in touch with the project owners or other volunteers, and communicate with one another. It also lets the groups demonstrate their achievements and share them with the world.
