TP and Orange support the Chopin Open Festival in Poland

26 July, 2010 - Warsaw was host to some 120 concerts between the 11th and 13th June at the international Chopin Open Festival, the leading city-wide event produced by René Martin, the founder and organiser of Nantes Crazy Day [Folle Journée de Nantes] which this year is dedicated to the works of Chopin. Telekomunikacja Polska and la Fundacja Orange are sponsoring all the Chopin Year events, in particular the Chopin Open Festival.

The life and works of Frédéric Chopin are particularly appropriate to the TP Group. Immersed in French culture, attracted to France by strong personal ties, he nevertheless remained true to his Polish roots and his most beautiful compositions reflect it. Telekomunikacja Polska and Orange are therefore offering Polish subscribers the ability to share the universal beauty of this celebrated composer’s musical works.

This event was unique in Poland. For three days at various venues – including the Grand Theatre-National Opera, the National Theatre, and the production at Plac Teatralny – it presented some 120 concerts with many world-famous artists taking, representing the best of traditional and today's music.

On 12th June the Camerata Silesia choral group also performed the world premiere of the works of Polish composer Zygmunt Krauze Voyage de Chopin and the works of Régis Campo 7 Humoresques commissioned for this event by Fundacja Orange in Warsaw and Fondation Orange in France
These two works will be performed again at the next edition of the Nuit de la Voix, organised every year by the Orange Foundation, which will be rolled out as a Comic Opera in Paris on 15 September and will be on direct broadest on Mezzo and Classic Radio.

During 2010, La Folle Journée dedicated to Chopin has been broadcast in France (Nantes), Poland (Warsaw), Japan (Tokyo), Brazil (Rio de Janeiro), and Spain (Bilbao). The world festival will include over 1,200 concerts in 2010.
