At Orange, we are aware that climate change is a global issue with potential consequences for all of us.
That is why, in line with its commitment to the environment, Orange is once again supporting the "La Hora del Planeta" initiative, backed by the WWF. In Spain, Orange is also working on other projects with this organization, including online billing and ecolabelling for mobile handsets.

"La Hora del Planeta" is a global WWF initiative, inviting individuals as well as all types of organizations, from businesses to governmental bodies, schools and institutions, to get on board. All the members make a commitment to turn off their lights for one hour to support the fight against climate change.

This year, as a partner company, Orange Spain has mapped out several actions:
on March 26, turning off the lights, computers and connected devices at its offices between 8:30 and 9:30 in the evening,
providing information and raising awareness among staff and customers about this campaign, both at work and at home,
making a commitment to a defined and measurable target for reducing CO2 emissions and adopting the measures required to achieve this.

This support for the "La Hora del Planeta" operation ties in with Orange's corporate responsibility project, which includes a commitment to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% by 2020. Thanks to a series of measures taken up until now, the company has already reduced its CO2 atmospheric emissions by 7%, representing one third of its commitment for 2020.
