Orange launches the Lion project in Madagascar

                  connects Madagascar The Lion project involves laying an underwater cable that will provide Madagascar with:

    International connectivity at lower costs.
    More secure international connections from Madagascar.


This project will also make it possible to bring Madagascar into the digital age, with:

    The development of broadband internet access and related services.
    Wider access to internet services among the country's population.
    Participation in the development of Madagascar's economy thanks to new information and communications technologies.


The Lion project will also make it possible to further strengthen Madagascar' ties with its sister islands in the Indian Ocean as Mauritius and Reunion working as a tool for stronger communication between the islands in order to capitalize more effectively on each one's economic potential.

The cable landing station in Toamasina, Madagascar's leading port, will represent a genuine opportunity for the Eastern region to become a digital hub for Madagascar and develop its economy.
