The
Lion
project involves laying an underwater cable that will provide Madagascar with:

International connectivity
at lower costs.

More secure international
connections from Madagascar.
This project will also make it possible to bring Madagascar into the digital
age, with:

The development
of broadband internet access and related services.

Wider access to
internet services among the country's population.

Participation in
the development of Madagascar's economy thanks to new information
and communications technologies.
The
Lion project will also make it possible to further strengthen Madagascar'
ties with its sister
islands in the Indian Ocean as Mauritius and Reunion working as a tool
for stronger communication between the islands in order to capitalize more effectively
on each one's economic potential.
The cable landing station in Toamasina, Madagascar's leading port, will represent
a genuine opportunity for the Eastern region to become a digital hub for Madagascar
and develop its economy.
