Élie Girard, 32, graduated from École Centrale de Paris and Harvard University. He began his career in 2001 with Andersen as an auditor and consultant, before joining the French Ministry of Finance and Industry, as part of the directorate general for economic policy and the treasury. From 2004 to 2007, he worked in the cabinets of Thierry Breton, Minister of Finance and Industry, and Jean-François Copé, Under-Secretary for State Reform and Budget, a government spokesperson.
Élie Girard joined the France Telecom-Orange Group in 2007 and was appointed Chief of Staff for the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Didier Lombard. When Stéphane Richard became the Group's Chief Executive Officer on March 1, 2010, Élie Girard was appointed as a Director alongside him. Within this framework, he has been responsible for mapping out the Group "conquest 2015" project, which was presented at the start of July 2010.
Lastly, in addition to his current roles, he took on the position as director of Group development and strategy on June 15. On September 1, 2010, he was also appointed as an executive director and a member of the Group executive committee.
