objectives and scope of centre
The Images and Networks competitiveness centre is one of fifteen centres with a worldwide purpose. It is centred on new image and content distribution network (fixed and mobile) technologies. Research, development and innovation projects are based on 7 areas:
- Image chain services: from HDTV to Rich Media.
- Images on the move. Designing and testing new content and usage formats resulting
from combining the world of broadcasting with the world of mobile communications.
- Image networks. Anticipating networks and network technologies of the future.
- Electronic distribution of content. Designing the different elements of the
content distribution chain, from their creation to their consumption in a symmetrised
"all IP" technology.
- Network, content and personal data security.
- Acceptance, interoperability and convergence platforms
- Networked virtual and augmented reality.
