objectives and scope of centre
The Image, Multimedia and Digital Life (IMVN) centre has a worldwide purpose. Its aim is to develop projects mainly concerning the creation of multimedia content, data storage and searching and in-situ usage studies. Audiovisual content creation is linked to HDTV and mobile images.
France Telecom's involvement in IMVN
France Telecom is a member of the IMVN's Executive Office and coordinator of the Usage field.
France Telecom contributes its expertise in the area of study and analysis of in-situ usage, creating and putting content online, image databases and knowledge management tools.
The carrier's participation in the centre will in time enable it to develop multimedia products and services that are better tailored to the needs and behaviours of its customers, and which are better integrated into the image and content chain. France Telecom designs new innovative services (video on mobile, VOD, high-definition TV, online gaming, etc.) that it adapts to all its networks.
