The Orange APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) are computing interfaces that may be used from a third-party application. They enable clients (companies, developers) to enhance web or mobile applications with communication services in a fast and simple way, while generating additional revenue opportunities.

The customers of Orange APIs can incorporate the full range of Orange API services into their web site, free of charge and without a subscription, in order to increase the performance of their distribution channel. Orange APIs are paid for only when they are used to establish communication streams.

Orange 20 APIs are different from other APIs in several ways. They are:
easy to use owing to a short learning curve (10 minutes) on a single self-service portal.
reliable because they offer Orange's quality of service.
global because they can be used anywhere in the world and by more than 3 billion potential users, not just Orange customers.

The click-to-call API enables a client - the developer - to incorporate a phone-calling feature into its services. For example, bloggers or businesses can place a clickable "call me" button on their website communication media and they are then responsible for all the charges for the call. Another possibility is choosing not to divulge their telephone number. For a website meeting, for example, this is a clear advantage since it enables users to go further in the relationship via an anonymous telephone conversation, without any of the correspondents being able to see the other person’s telephone number. API click-to-call is based on IMS technology which has enabled a service to be constructed that is, on the one hand, technically very simple, and on the other hand, very flexible as it can be adapted and integrated into future innovations.

SMS API is a real-time SMS alerts service. An example use: the client receives an SMS stating that his or her order has arrived. e.g. "The package was delivered to you on Monday, 29 March 2010, at 10 a.m." This API is for web developers who want to very rapidly integrate AP into their internet applications.
