My Superstar, the first iPhone game to integrate the Orange APIs directly in the gaming experience

Orange is launching My Superstar in France, its unique mobile video game, developed for Orange by Mobile Pie and available for free download on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Players enter a virtual mini-world and help theirs avatars become pop stars in a game that integrates the use of location gaming with Facebook Places, real-time calls, texts and emails. This level of interaction is a world first in the mobile gaming world.

Gamers will be able to receive demands (in the form of challenges, requests, tips, etc.) from their stars by email, text or voice call using the Orange API-based Star Phone features, for a truly interactive and unique gaming experience. This Star Phone option specifically uses two Orange APIs: the SMS API, which enables the gamer to receive his/her challenges via SMS, and the interactive voice API, which uses an interactive voice server to have the gamer’s own star call him/her.
 
By using the game’s virtual currency (Star Coins/Jetons and Star Cash)*, the gamers can personalise their avatars by customising their look, developing a musical talent (vocals, guitar, piano, DJ, etc.), or recording a Top 50 song with their friends. 
 
In January 2011, the game was launched in the UK under the name ‘’My Star’’, but it did not use the Orange APIs. On the occasion of the game’s launch in France, the Star Phone features have been integrated in the existing application in the UK.

* The player earns Star Coins/Jetons when his/her star accepts a challenge, sells songs, or plays a musical instrument; Star Cash is earned/purchased and used to buy highly desirable items (musical instruments, property, etc.).
