one of the first Android-based mobiles now available at Orange
The HTC Dream™ is the first Android™-based handset launched in France.
Android™ is a free open-source operating system for smartphones, PDAs and mobiles
developed under the guidance of the Open Handset Alliance (OHA), in which GoogleTM
and HTC are founding members.
The HTC DreamTM offers a rich and intuitive internet browsing experience, close
to that of a PC, and includes a series of applications developed by GoogleTM,
such as Google Search™, Google Maps™, YouTube™ and Gmail™. The Google Search™
bar can also be accessed directly from the home screen, enabling quick and easy
access to information.
The HTC DreamTM also offers optimum and comfortable e-mail access (POP3/IMAP4
e-mail, webmail, SMS, MMS) thanks to its AZERTY keyboard.
The HTC DreamTM represents an innovation for Orange on the French market since,
in addition to its touch screen, it has a full slide-out integrated keyboard,
differentiating it from other mobile handsets.
Thanks to Android Market™, the open content distribution platform for Android™,
customers are able to download applications, and personalize and enhance their
mobile's capabilities.
The HTC Dream™ is designed for young fans of trendsetting technologies and all
technology fans in general looking for an optimized customer experience on their
mobile. It will appeal to all users of the internet and Google™ services.
