Orange takes second place in ranking of corporate websites in France

Paris, April 02, 2009
The France Telecom-Orange group’s corporate website www.orange.com – also accessible at www.francetelecom.com – has been recognized as a benchmark for 2008 in two independent surveys conducted in Sweden and the UK. The website, which is available both for PCs and mobile phones, attracted close to a million visits in March 2009.

The first survey, conducted by the Swedish communications consultancy firm Hallvarsson & Halvarsson, ranks Orange second in France out of the 41 largest companies by market value. The ranking is based on an evaluation of the website's performance in terms of content and functionality.

Orange's website was also awarded the title of "best climber" in this year's edition of the survey for its jump from 22nd place for 2007 to second place for 2008. According to Eric Barilland, Orange's Director of Digital Media, "this excellent performance reflects the successful launch of a new version of the corporate website in January 2008. This new version marks a significant step forward compared to other corporate websites thanks to its customizable homepage. Orange.com will continue to evolve over the coming weeks and will soon benefit from a revamped section dedicated to jobs and careers worldwide".

In the same survey, the Group's corporate website was also ranked 60th out of 700 companies surveyed in Europe, an improvement of 76 places compared to the 2007 edition of the survey.

The Swedish communications consultancy firm Hallvarsson & Halvarsson annually publishes the H&H Webranking survey, which is a ranking of around 700 corporate websites in Europe. The ranking is based on a survey of financial analysts, investors, business journalists and job seekers throughout Europe. The respondents evaluate how they use corporate websites and what content and functionality they expect to find. This year's survey also included a focus on employer branding.

In the second survey, conducted by the UK-based corporate communications magazine, Communicate, orange.com was also ranked second in a survey of web agencies. In this case, websites were evaluted by their quality of content, simplicity of navigation and speed of access.
