Orange and the Group for Health Cooperation for the Development of Shared Healthcare Information Systems in the Ile-de-France region (GCS D-SISIF) are launching "Région Sans Film" in Ile-de-France (Paris and suburbs).
Pioneering development in France: radiology images can be shared between healthcare facilities and independent doctors
Région Sans Film makes it possible to simplify the facilities' information system, rationalize costs and facilitate collaborative work and sharing.

Traditional imaging methods are evolving towards digital technology. All the images produced must be archived and distributed them to the care teams.

Région Sans Film makes it easy to archive healthcare data, while optimizing collaborative work between healthcare professionals thanks to:
image production
examination storage
image sharing
access to these images for the primary care physician.

This nationwide solution enables member facilities to benefit from remote access to patient images via a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform. To tailor healthcare facilities, it is a pay as you go solution.

Each healthcare facility retains access to its patients' information, with a partitioned approach ensuring the separation from other facilities. The sharing of medical images between various players is still subject to a specific procedure, defined by the facility which issued the image.

Région Sans Film also enables healthcare facilities to simplify their information system by centralizing their software solutions. In addition, its use only requires a limited number of equipment: most of the hardware and software are hosted in Orange Business Services data centers with guaranteed Service Quality and security.

This solution represents a clear and relevant response to the regulatory requirements under the French confidentiality order and the "healthcare data hoster" accreditation.

To offer this centralized platform, Orange relied on the Group’s competencies, especially Orange Business Services’, dedicated to communications services for business worldwide, and Orange Healthcare, dedicated to e-health.

During the Health Information Technology (HIT) trade show in Paris, Pierre Boiron, Deputy Director of the Simone Veil Hospital Group, will present the Région sans Film project run by the GCS D-SISIF during a panel discussion around deploying a centralized PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) as a service, on May 20, 2010 at 2pm.
