Orange Business Services launches "Fleet Voyageurs", an innovative Public Transport fleet management solution

Modular and scalable M2M solution for public transport firms
Orange Business Services, a communications service operator and integrator for businesses, is confirming its commitment to being a major IT player for the public transport sector by innovating once again with "Fleet Voyageurs", for vehicle fleet management and operations.
Optimizing transport network operations
Thanks to "Fleet Voyageurs", managers are able to oversee their transport network's operations from a web portal. This modular and scalable solution offers a wide range of services to optimize the efficiency and quality of transport networks. In line with requirements, business modules can be integrated with a bespoke approach. It combines vehicle geolocation technologies with the key business features for passenger transport.
More specifically, this solution makes it possible to:
• Monitor their transport network in real time
Each vehicle is fitted with a touch-screen communicating unit which transmits information to the central Orange Business Services server through a personalized and secure web interface. From this interface, managers can, using a map and charts presenting their lines, view and monitor their network's vehicles in real time.
• Communicate with their fleet
Thanks to the "Temps Réel" real-time module, managers can communicate with their fleet in real time. In the event of any disruption (vehicles ahead of schedule, delays, incidents, etc.), they are able to notify their drivers very quickly. In this way, if work is being carried out on the route in question, they can give their driver another route or ask them to slow down if they are too far ahead of their schedule.
• Analyze their network's performance on a deferred basis
Thanks to the "Temps Différé" deferred time module, managers are able to benefit from summary activity reports and daily usage reports in order to optimize their fleet management and identify any issues. All of the data can be viewed on a map: the journeys per period, monitoring of vehicle mileage, distances covered and daily usage time, departure and arrival times, average speed, etc.
• Communicate directly with users
The "Information Voyageur" traveler information module makes it possible to provide passengers with real-time updates on traffic news, next departures, points of arrival or waiting times.
The data may be sent on users' mobile phones, PDAs or PCs, or distributed on screens set up at public transport locations, at stations or on-board vehicles.
Benefiting from "end-to-end" support
The Machine To Machine solution "Fleet Voyageurs" has been developed through a partnership between Orange Business Services and Lumiplan-Duhamel, combining the strengths of each group.
Orange Business Services handles the solution's design, integration, deployment and hosting, as well as manager training.
This service also has a dedicated hotline.
