Raoul Roverato appointed Vice President of the Enterprise Line of Business of Orange Spain

Paris, December 10, 2010
Raoul Roverato, currently Executive Vice President of the New Growth Business activity of France Telecom-Orange, has been appointed Vice President of the Enterprise Line of Business in Orange Spain as from 10 January 2011. Xavier Couture, currently head of the Group’s Content Division, will replace him as interim Vice President of the New Growth Business activity.

Raoul’s move to this role underlines the importance of the Enterprise segment to future growth at Orange Spain. The Enterprise Line of Business offers fixed and mobile services to professionals, from individual entrepreneurs to large businesses. The consumer business in Spain is showing significant improvement both in terms of customer growth and financial performance. Raoul’s appointment illustrates the Group’s ambition to stimulate the B2B segment in Spain in order to create a similar improvement.

Raoul brings his considerable experience to Orange Spain, acquired over sixteen years with the Group. Since 2008, he has been Executive Vice President of the New Growth Business activity. Here, he successfully led the Group into new business areas, including content, audience and advertising, and healthcare. Under his leadership, these activities represent almost 20% of the Group’s total revenues today, compared to 6% in 2008.

In addition to his experience at the Group’s headquarters, Raoul already has a strong operational experience of the business segment. In particular, he worked for seven years with Orange Business Services, where he took on various senior roles including VP Voice Marketing and head of OBS Consulting.

Olaf Swantee, Executive Vice President in charge of the Group’s operations in Europe, commented “I am delighted that Raoul has agreed to take the leadership of Orange Spain’s Enterprise Line of Business at this critical time. In addition, I am also convinced that our consumer activity in Spain will stand to benefit from Raoul’s considerable experience in content and new business development. Indeed, as our mobile activity in particular continues to grow, Orange needs to build on this momentum by offering its customers an exciting new generation of offers based on content and internet services.”

Raoul Roverato, 39, who attended the Ecole Polytechnique, has been Executive Vice President of New Growth Business since 2008. He joined the Group in 1994 as Sales Executive in the B2B segment in France. He then worked for seven years in business services development at Global One and Equant (which later became Orange Business Services). In 2004, he became Chief of Staff of the Group’s CEO, Didier Lombard, a position that he held for four years before taking on his current role.
