Orange, partner to the Health Chair of Sciences Po School for three years

Paris, March 29, 2011
Health issues hold an important place in public policies and in social and economic debates in today's world.

The Sciences Po school places special emphasis on healthcare developments and in 2006 created a Health chair to promote a broad-based, multidisciplined approach to issues in this area.

Orange, a recognized leader in healthcare technologies and a licensed hosting service provider for personal health data in France, has been providing expertise to assist in the development of e-health for four years.

Aware of the challenges facing the sector, Orange and Sciences Po have joined forces through the signature of a three-year patronage agreement. The purpose of this partnership is to encourage public debate on e-health and on the use of information and communication technologies in the medical field. In particular, it seeks to promote critical thinking on the key topic of telemedicine deployment in France.

Several conferences are already scheduled with Orange: a symposium on “Fighting the ostracism of sick workers” on May 12, featuring Lyse Brillouet, director of strategy and marketing of the health division, while Thierry Zylberberg, executive director of the health division, will speak at the symposium on telemedicine of Sciences Po Health Chair and Institut Droit & Santé (Law & Health Institute) on May 24.
Supplementing this partnership, ties will be strengthened between Orange and Sciences Po in professional education and training.

"Orange Healthcare is pleased to be able to work with such a prestigious school to develop the future healthcare professions to meet the challenges of the digital economy and healthcare policies," states Patrice Cristofini, director of strategic partnerships at Orange Healthcare.

Orange is thus pursuing its policy of partnership with high-quality educational curricula that shape its professions and interact with its ecosystem.
