Paris, September 29, 2011

Stéphanie Hospital has been appointed Executive Vice President of Orange’s Audience and Advertising division, reporting to Xavier Couture, who leads the New Growth Businesses. The Audience and Advertising division was set up in 2007, bringing together 350 employees worldwide, and is part of Orange’s New Growth Businesses, alongside the Content division.
Until now, Stéphanie Hospital was in charge of audience development and digital within this entity.

For several years Orange has focused its strategy on enhancing its mobile and broadband internet offers with services and content that bring more value to its customers. The Audience and Advertising Division plays a dual role: supporting operator revenues through digital services, and increasing revenues through new growth drivers such as digital advertising. Orange has a very strong position in this context:

-    Through its web and mobile sites, Orange has captured a multi-screen audience that places it in the top 25 in Europe, with 42 million unique visitors. In France Orange is 4th on web and 3rd on mobiles, behind Google, Facebook and Microsoft. Orange is 3rd in Poland. The Group is extending its network of sites across the world year after year. Starmedia, with 20 million unique visitors, is one of the leading sites in South America. Following the acquisition of Cityvox and the launch of StarAfrica, Orange has bought a share of Dailymotion, number two in online video with 110 million unique visitors.

-    Orange’s digital ad sales houses, operated by Orange Advertising Network, have leading positions in their footprint. With web, mobile and video presence, they not only commercialise the Group’s sites advertising inventory, but major third party publishers’ too, while also running an online advertising market place: Orange Ad Market.

-    Orange is constantly enhancing its ecosystem of products, services and digital enablers, from email to personal cloud. A series of innovative services have also been introduced focusing on social and interactive TV. To consolidate the best possible service ecosystem for its customers, Orange has also established privileged partnerships with the main digital actors: Google, Microsoft, Wikipedia, Facebook, eBay, and Twitter as well as Samsung and LG.

The Audience and Advertising Line of Business is an international division, principally covering Europe. It has recently been expanding to the AMEA region. It operates a number of international subsidiaries: Orange Advertising Spain, StarMedia and in the UK, Orange Digital Ltd as well as the advertising network Unanimis (acquired in 2009); it also animates Orange’s activities, acquisitions and partnerships in the digital arena, among them Dailymotion..

Stéphanie Hospital is a graduate of the Grenoble School of Management. She has very extensive experience in the internet and the digital ecosystem. Early in her career, as a consultant with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, she was involved in developing some of the first internet start-ups.   She joined the Group in 2001, at Wanadoo, where she held a number of senior management positions in Spain, the UK and internationally. In 2006 Stéphanie Hospital was appointed Vice President of strategic planning for Orange’s Marketing and Innovation Division, before joining the Audience and Advertising Division in 2007 as marketing and development Vice President.
