Orange once again named best mobile network by ARCEP

Paris, November 07, 2011

ARCEP's official report dated 4 November 2011 on "the quality of mobile network (2G and 3G) voice and data services in mainland France" confirms that Orange boasts the best mobile network. The report reveals that Orange is number one for speed, number one for mobile service voice quality, and finally 1st or tied for 1st according to the vast majority of criteria (1st or tied for 1st in 57 out of 61 categories).

The Orange network is 1st or tied for 1st according to the vast majority of ARCEP's mobile network quality criteria
Orange has reaffirmed its number one ranking for mobile network quality as measured by 57 out of 61 ARCEP criteria.

Orange offers the fastest mobile speeds
Orange is two to five times faster than our competitors for file downloads on the move in 90% of cases.
Orange is 1st or tied for 1staccording to all file send and receive criteria assessed in mainland France, and in particular in the "5 MB file downloads" category in 90% of cases and in all large urban areas surveyed by ARCEP.

Orange is number one for the quality of voice calls and data services on the move
Orange offers the best voice quality and is 1st or tied for 1st in 25 categories. Orange also stands out for communication quality on board high-speed trains.
With 100% of its 3G/3G+ network High Definition Voice-compatible in mainland France, Orange offers customers with compatible mobiles excellent voice quality: a richer, more natural sound that ensures a feeling of closeness.
The Orange mobile network is ranked 1st or tied for 1st by ARCEP for portal login success rate and sustained (five minutes) browsing success rate, delivering the best performance and enabling users to get the most out of their smartphones.

Orange is number one for mobile network coverage in mainland France and is continuing to invest
In 2011, Orange stepped up its 3G/3G+ investment and network deployment*, increasing population coverage from 95% to 98% by late 2011. This means that nearly two million more people are able to enjoy the full user comfort of 3G/3G+ for accessing Orange services, whether from a mobile, a 3G+ dongle or a tablet (browsing, email, TV, VOD, downloads, etc.).
This success is the result of the hard work put in by 35,000 people who every day contribute to the quality of Orange's networks.

Orange is the number one mobile network and is using an advertising campaign to spread the word
In order to inform customers of the results of the ARCEP report and thank the 35,000 members of staff whose day-to-day work underpins the quality of its networks, since 6 November Orange has been running an advertising campaign in the national press which will then move to the daily regional press.

*in some areas, 3G/3G+ access requires a UMTS 900-compatible handset
