It raises new society requirements which Orange Healthcare, our division devoted to e-health, tries hard to answer by working for the sick and healthcare professionals.

For weak and dependent persons, to be able to benefit from a constant attention without the pressure of transfers or hospitalisations contributes to comfort while considerably reducing health expenses. It is the reason for which we have created a global support assistance offer at home, intended for dependent senior citizens as well as for their loved ones, caregivers and institutions. It has three motives: to support the social connection and favour communication, reassure senior citizens and those surrounding them, and assure the monitoring of professionals at the senior citizens' homes.

Contemporary societies are confronted more and more with chronic diseases (diabetes, hypertension, respiratory diseases). It is estimated that in 2030, 6.8% of the worldwide population will suffer from diabetes, versus 2.8% today. Patients suffering from these diseases need constant medical monitoring which is personally very constraining. Orange Healthcare develops solutions to improve the treatment of these diseases, allowing to stabilise as best as possible the patient's health condition and to avoid emergency hospitalisations.

When hospitalisation cannot be avoided, information and communication technologies can help break the isolation of the patients by favouring communication with loved ones. Launched in the beginning of 2008, our Connected Hospital service contributes for example to increasing the comfort of hospitalised persons while improving care quality. A true interactive communication platform, Connected Hospital offers a range of telecommunications functionalities specifically conceived for the hospital (PC at the foot of the bed, differentiated call nurse, mobile cart...).
