virtualised serversIn the deployment phase in our main European entities, the Eco-centers program has already allowed more than 6,000 servers to be "virtualised" in France and more than 600 in Poland. It has thus prevented the emission of more than 700 tonnes of CO2 in these two countries.
energy savings thanks to ventilationThe backbone of our business, our telecommunications network works with electronic equipment housed in technical premises, which produce a lot of heat. Our studies conducted in France and Spain in particular have shown that significant energy savings could be achieved in the cooling process of these rooms. Ventilation systems were thus installed, which reduced energy consumption up to 80%.
deployment of solar stations with the ORYX projectOrange's installation of mobile stations powered with the help of solar generators aims at reconciling 3 needs: the reduction of operating costs; service quality improvement; commitment to a sustainable development policy. With this program, the Group increases mobile coverage in rural areas while answering the objective established to reduce its CO2 emissions by 20% before 2020. This deployement will also contribute to meeting the commitment to raise up to 25% the part of solar source in the energy consumption of the Group in the AMEA region in 2015.

compensation for pollution in BelgiumOur Mobistar subsidiary set up a pollution compensation system, "CO2 Logic", the objective of which is to compensate CO2 emissions which cannot be prevented through the purchase of carbon credits. These credits are then used to finance CO2 emission reduction actions in developing countries.
