mobile safety

mobile safetyHere are some things that can help you reduce the risk of theft, spam and endangering yourself when driving.

theft
Your smart new phone can attract attention.  Avoid flashing your phone around and making calls in crowded places, or places where you don’t feel safe, and try not to be overheard – especially if you’re arranging a place to meet. In the unfortunate event that your phone is stolen, you can report the theft of your phone online in the UK at www.immobilise.co.uk or in France at www.afom.fr.
For other countries, please visit your local country website .

spam
if you don’t want text updates about services, simply let customer services know. To reduce the risk of spam, remember to un-tick permission boxes when filling in online or paper forms. If you do receive a spam message and want to unsubscribe, don’t text or call them back as you may be charged a premium rate. Instead, find the contact information on the web or by calling directory enquiries, and contact the sender to ask to be removed from their marketing list.

driving
using a phone at the wheel is a distraction, putting the driver and others at risk. It’s safer to pull over, stop in a safe place and turn the engine off before making or receiving a call. Even if you have a hands-free kit it’s still safer to pull over. If using a phone when driving is tolerated by law in your country, you must remain in control of your vehicle if you are using hands-free equipment. Don’t text and drive.
