believe new technologies can be the answer to some major challenges in society.
Our R&D and marketing departments are focused on designing for sustainability.
Since 2004, we have been working on a methodology to factor in the economic,
social and environmental impacts of our products and services at their design
stage.
Based on a scorecard of impacts, we started by raising awareness among R&D and
marketing stakeholders. This cross-business initiative, involving various group
departments, currently is focused on integrating sustainable development requirements
into project launch processes.
going forward our priorities for responsible design are
- environmental: minimize the impact of our products and services in terms of energy consumption,
materials used and recycling,
- social: define the benefits of telecoms services, notably in terms of access to information
for all, health solutions, alternatives to transport, and the protection of sensitive
populations,
- economic: check that our products offer a real benefit for customers, that they are high-quality,
secure and easy to use.
