European policy: a vision to ignite the digital revolution
Jean-Claude Juncker’s European Commission demonstrates a confirmed interest for digital issues. Orange welcome this interest and takes due note of the directions given by EC President which acknowledge the importance of digital issues and investment.
These concerns closely match those presented by Orange in our manifesto for digital growth.
They are bound to be addressed in the Commission’s new organization : Estonian Andrus Ansip, one of the vice-presidents-designated, will be in charge of the digital single market, while German Günther Oettinger will lead the Commission for Digital Economy and Society.
To welcome the new European institutions, Orange prepared a brochure for the incoming Vice Presidents and Commissioners as well as for Members of European Parliament. This brochure aims at raising awareness around telecommunications and ICT issues in general, and defends an industrial vision for a strong digital economy in Europe.
