We ensure we respect fundamental freedoms and human rights
We signed the United Nations Global Compact in July 2000 to ensure all our business activities respect human rights, especially when it comes to our employees, suppliers and subcontractors.
We are pushing for stronger advocacy of human rights within the ICT sector because as an industry we’re particularly challenged with issues relating to freedom of expression and opinion. This is especially when it comes to data collection and artificial intelligence. We’re working across our international organisations and operations to protect these freedoms along with people’s personal data and privacy.
- We’re on the Board of Directors for the Global Network Initiative (GNI), which works to protect the internet privacy rights of individuals across all of the Group’s operating countries.
- Since 2014, we have also published a transparency report on freedom of expression and privacy protection.
