Portrait d'Aida

Aida, can you tell us about your job in a few words…

My activities are largely led by the latest things happening within the digital ecosystem. Part of my role is to remain on “cyber watch” for the most relevant security events. In the event of a cyber-attack, for example, we immediately define and implement a response plan. I work with stakeholders within our various MEA subsidiaries and offer them management and operational support if necessary.

Why did you choose Orange?

Firstly, I share the same values: multiculturalism, socio-professional cohesion, equal opportunities, commitment to employees and customers… Orange also has deep roots in Africa. As a major digital player, we work to enable social inclusion, create value, and make everyday life easier, through telecommunications of course but also in sectors such as energy, education, and health. These strong values resonate with me and motivate me to do the best job I can.

How does your job appeal and contribute to creating a more egalitarian digital world?

The digital world is far from being a haven of peace and countries in Africa and the Middle East are not the best equipped to combat cyber risks. As a security expert, I do everything I can to strengthen the systems needed to deal with them. This is how I contribute to reducing the gap that separates the Group’s subsidiaries all over the world.

You work in a male environment, how to do you get on with your male colleagues?

Very well. I knew the score as soon as I chose this profession. Today I am happy to be surrounded by caring and positive colleagues. Honestly, I don’t notice the issue and don’t feel I stand out. I love sport, especially football, so there is good common ground in terms of topics to discuss!

What are the main challenges in your job?

Computer security is a constantly changing field. You must adapt to always remain one step ahead and be effective in the face of cyber threats. You have to evolve, revise and stay ahead. It’s a bit like a strategy game: to win you must understand that the rules are constantly changing.
