Orange and La Ruche team up to use digital technology to make a social impact

Surfing on the Social Good Week wave, La Ruche - a co-working, incubation and acceleration place, dedicated to the positive economy - and Orange, have teamed up with the Rexel Foundation, Microsoft Bizspark, INSEEC Group and Webforce3 to issue a call for projects for Digital Impact 2017 on the 1st of December 2016 in Paris.

The call for projects will be launched on a regional scale too, in La Ruche Marseille on December 2nd and La Ruche Bordeaux on December 6th.
The aim of Digital Impact is to detect and promote start-ups running #Tech For Good projects, capitalising on digital technologies to foster a positive impact on the French economy. In order to attract the best talents, the Digital Impact Tour will tour France, during two months, from December 2016, to January 2017.

Applicants will qualify for pre-selection in Paris until 24 January 2017. The semi-finals will be held in February 2017, when applicants will defend their projects before the five regional juries in Marseille, Bordeaux, Paris, Lille and Rennes. The winners will be officially announced in March 2017. The winners of Digital Impact 2017, will be given a 10-month acceleration starting in March 2017, along with privileged access to the Les Ruches network with mentoring from partners.  Orange will provide the winners with the type of workshops it offers as part of the Orange Fab programme.

“Digital technology changes our lives. The real issue behind technology is human beings...”

Quote from the Orange 2016 Annual Report editorial by Stéphane Richard

Orange - a major player in the digital field both in France and abroad - is keenly aware of the sustainable human and economic development potential that digital technology has. In line with the Digital Impact programme, we strongly believe that these #Tech For Good start-ups will provide a new source of shared value creation models, using digital technology to develop the country’s economy. Orange encourages the various players to work together by setting up support and exchange platforms. For more than three years, we have established an active partnership with Les Ruches in France, Africa and the Middle East through the five incubators it supports, and the Orange social entrepreneur award programme which is now in its sixth year.

You can find out more about Digital Impact 2017 on Wednesday 2 December 2016 at La Ruche Marseille, or on Tuesday 6 December at La Ruche Bordeaux.
