100,000 spectators for the 2016 edition of Orange Kino Letnie
Three resort locations in Poland, 62 days, 141 screenings, nearly 300 hours of cinematic emotion, more than 100,000 spectators, and unique opportunities to meet the stars of Polish cinema.
Here is a brief summary of the 9th edition of the oldest summer film festival, Orange Kino Letnie, which is held at Sopot and Zakopane, and now also at the charming eco marina in Giżycko, where those docked on yachts were also able to view the films.
In addition to the successful screenings, this year’s edition was particularly glamorous: actress Katarzyna Figura opened the festivities in Zakopane; Antoni Królikowski – an actor of the younger generation – launched screenings in Giżycko, and the pair Olga Bołądź and Piotr Glowacki presided over the opening gala in Sopot.
Le Clap de Diamant 2016, which goes to the most positive and enthusiastic person in the cinema world, was awarded by Artur Zmijewski, winner of last year’s edition, to actress and singer Alicja Bachleda-Curuś, whose talent is now recognized internationally.
Sopot this summer also played host to a culinary feast with star chef Tomasz Jakubiak in the kitchen. His dishes were enjoyed by many stars of big and small screen alike, and were featured at a number of warm and relaxed get-togethers with audience members.
