Immune, exposed or vaccinated: what is your level of resistance to fake news?

If you have taken a few moments to consider your relationship with data, or you already have an idea, find out what type of profile you are and benefit from a few relevant tips that might come in handy!

You’re aware of the extent of fake news during normal times and especially since the beginning of the health crisis. You are therefore careful, because "prevention is better than cure". You know the right things to do to verify the information but you sometimes feel a little lost in the face of so many sources and so much information. This is normal! You therefore find it difficult to advise your loved ones to be cautious or limit your information and may be concerned about exposing younger populations.

When it comes to fake news, you’ve been caught out in the past and today you’ll do everything to fight it for yourself and your loved ones.
Congratulations on your vigilance and activism. But don’t be too pessimistic: the media, digital platforms and telecoms operators, among others, are all working together to overcome it.

Our prescription:

  • Remain hopeful! Artificial intelligence will soon make it easier to identify fake news.
     
  • Continue to share your best practices with those who may need help navigating fake news during the crisis.
     
  • If you want to share best practices: invite your loved ones to read the latest information and tips provided by the French government.
     
  • For younger children, have you also thought about what to advise regarding fake images?

 

You’re a bit exposed - You answered mostly "stars":

YouYou’re not really aware of fake news or not overly concerned. You trust in digital and believe it’s keeping its promises. However, check your trust is built on solid foundations. To avoid being caught out, we advise you to be doubly careful during this time. Not just towards the information you read which can impact your life and well-being but also the information you share with those around you. If it is fake news, you will be helping to spread it, potentially harming others.
