5 concrete commitments
At Orange, we rely on major international frameworks (United Nations, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and International Labour Organization) to guide our approach. We keep a consistent global standard while adapting to local realities. New technologies can weaken human rights without proper safeguards, but we’re convinced they can be a powerful force for strengthening them too. So we follow the UN’s principles: Protect, Respect, Remedy, while going a step further by adding a fourth pillar: Connect.
We stand for an open internet where everyone can speak freely. Our digital inclusion programs reach the people who need them most. We develop ethical, inclusive solutions designed around real user needs not just technological ambitions. Our goal is to ensure no one is left behind in today’s digital world.
We do what we can to safeguard personal information and raise awareness about online risks. We actively defend the right to communicate freely and securely, wherever people live.
We reject all forms of discrimination and work to ensure every individual can thrive at Orange. Equal opportunity isn’t a slogan; it’s how we operate, from everyday teamwork and collaboration to supporting social-economy enterprises in our value chain.
We ensure all our teams work in safe, healthy conditions across all countries where we operate. We expect the same from our suppliers and partners, helping prevent forced labor and child labor. Trust, honesty and respect form the foundation of all our relationships, ensuring we act with integrity and fight corruption and unfair practices.
We recognize the inseparable link between human rights and the environment. Our initiatives to reduce carbon emissions and scale up the circular economy help protect everyone’s right to live in a healthy environment. We also ensure that our infrastructure such as mobile sites meets health and safety standards for surrounding communities.
The United Kingdom in 2015 and Australia in 2018 each adopted a law on modern slavery, known in both countries as the "Modern Slavery Act " (MSA), which are similar in purpose and require eligible companies to publish an annual statement detailing the actions and measures taken to combat modern slavery and human trafficking within their organisation and supply chain. As Orange’s subsidiaries in England and Australia are subject to these laws, Orange SA, as the parent company, has been issuing a modern slavery statement since 2016 under English law and since 2021 under Australian law, in a single document.
As the MSA has extraterritorial scope, Orange’s statement covers its activities, as well as those of its subsidiaries and suppliers, in all countries where the Orange Group operates.
