Smartphones, tablets, computers... screens are everywhere — bringing both opportunities and risks. While digital tools unlock extraordinary pathways for learning and social connection, they can also become traps. Too much screen time can lead to isolation, sleep disorders, musculoskeletal strain and other issues that affect children’s overall health. Globally, one in three children with online access is affected by cyberbullying, according to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. And the consequences are serious: victims are three times more likely to suffer from anxiety and depression, increasing the risk of long-term psychological distress (UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre).
The youth’s message to the tech industry is powerful: they don't want the digital world dismantled. They want it designed with their wellbeing at the center. These insights come from 93 teenagers across 8 countries as part of the Global Child Forum's #ListenUp project.
At Orange we recognise that our responsibility goes beyond connectivity. We are committed to creating an ecosystem where young people feel safe, respected and heard.
