Organizations today face a growing range of cloud requirements: protecting sensitive data, ensuring the continuity of critical applications and accessing the computing power needed for AI. These use cases require different levels of resilience, isolation or infrastructure.
In addition, France is strengthening the governance for highly sensitive data hosted in the cloud. A Ministerial Order issued on 12 August 2026 approved version 3.2 of the SecNumCloud framework and clarified the requirements for certain cloud services used by the French State, public operators and public-interest bodies to process particularly sensitive information.
Issued by France's national cybersecurity agency, ANSSI, SecNumCloud is France's highest security qualification for cloud services and one of Europe's most demanding cloud security frameworks. It confirms that qualified services meet stringent requirements for cybersecurity, data protection and transparency.
Against this backdrop, ANSSI has awarded Orange Business SecNumCloud qualification for new environments in its Cloud Avenue portfolio. This new qualification complements the one obtained in July 2025, expanding Orange Business's trusted-cloud portfolio to include two complementary solutions tailored to different use cases and levels of criticality.
Two environments for complementary trusted-cloud needs
Cloud Avenue SecNum already offers organizations a choice of shared or dedicated single-site environments for sovereignty-sensitive projects. Within the same environment, customers can combine SecNumCloud qualification with ISO 27001 certification and France's HDS certification for health-data hosting.
These newly qualified infrastructure as a service (IaaS) environments are designed for organizations who need the highest level security, resiliency, as well the guaranteed performance provided by dedicated architectures. They provide resources fully dedicateUd to each customer and physically separated from other customers, supported by a high availability architecture spanning two data centers in Val-de-Reuil and Chartres, France. Cloud Avenue SecNum Dynamic also includes GPU servers to support AI workloads, including model training and inference.
The two complementary environments enable Orange Business to support a wider range of needs, from sovereign cloud projects to the most demanding requirements for resilience, isolation and computing power.
“Trust is earned, not claimed. This second SecNumCloud qualification gives organizations more choice for their most critical projects, from protecting sensitive data and ensuring business continuity to deploying trusted AI. They can select the cloud environment that matches their needs for resilience, dedicated infrastructure and computing power, backed by the security and expertise of Orange Business,” said Aliette Mousnier-Lompré, CEO of Orange Business.
Trust, built into the infrastructure
This new qualification is part of the Orange Group's Trust the future strategy, which positions trust as a driver of growth and innovation for businesses. As AI adoption accelerates and demand for computing capacity rises, Orange is investing in secure, resilient infrastructure and trusted digital solutions.
The planned joint venture with Morrison to develop data centers reflects the same ambition: to expand hosting capacity in France and across Europe, support the next generation of digital and AI use cases, and help strengthen Europe's digital sovereignty.
