Orange today announced that Orange Ventures has invested in Biolevate, a French health-tech start-up specializing in knowledge-driven automation to accelerate the path to market for drugs and other life sciences products. This investment, made as part of Biolevate's latest financing round, reflects Orange's commitment to support the French Tech ecosystem, helping high potential companies scale in strategic sectors. It also illustrates Orange's ambition, under its Trust the future strategy, to foster trusted digital solutions that combine innovation, security, responsible AI and operational value for business, especially in the healthcare and life sciences sectors.
Through Orange Ventures, Orange supports high-growth companies that can create technological, commercial, and strategic synergies with the Group, notably in data and AI, digital enterprise and e-health.
Biolevate is part of the 2025 French Tech 2030 promotion, whose companies develop technologies considered strategic for French technological sovereignty. The company has also been supported by Future4Care, the leading European ecosystem for AI in healthcare, of which Orange is a cofounder.
Supporting the transition from AI experimentation to operational adoption
Biolevate is already creating impact, with up to 50% faster time-to-market for selected pharmaceutical processes, dramatically reducing the time between the discovery of a potentially life-saving treatment and patient access. Its agentic AI platform captures, structures and operationalizes validated scientific and regulatory knowledge, enabling trusted AI agents to support complex work across the healthcare innovation lifecycle, from drug R&D and clinical operations to market access, health technology assessments, literature reviews and regulatory activities.
Alongside Orange Ventures' investment, Orange Business will work with Biolevate to combine its agentic AI capabilities with Enovalife's clinical research and data and AI transformation expertise. An Orange Business affiliate, Enovalife helps pharmaceutical customers streamline the drug lifecycle and address operational costs and regulatory demands through data and AI transformation. Its deep, long-standing relationships with research teams, and its understanding of their processes, operational constraints and transformation priorities, will help the partners support customers in developing and integrating agentic AI transformation projects more easily and effectively.
As pharmaceutical companies move beyond proofs of concept, the priority is to scale AI initiatives rapidly and sustainably, while maintaining control over maintenance costs. Together, Biolevate and Enovalife will focus on high-value clinical-development use cases where digital transformation and operational integration are essential for successful adoption. These include automating clinical trial protocol development, clinical study reports, and regulatory bridging, where documentation and compliance requirements must be adapted across jurisdictions.
Joel Belafa, CEO of Biolevate, said: “Our mission is to reduce the time between a potentially life-saving discovery and the moment it reaches patients. We do this through knowledge-driven automation for life sciences, paving the way for faster therapies through trusted AI agents. Orange Ventures' investment in our second financing round, together with our strategic partnership with Orange Business, Enovalife and Future4Care, creates a strong opportunity to scale this impact for life sciences organizations in France, Europe and globally.”
Claire Scotton, Vice President, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Orange Business, said: “The priority for pharmaceutical R&D organizations is no longer simply to test AI, but to deploy it at scale in ways that create value for teams and fit their operations. Biolevate brings a highly relevant approach to knowledge-driven automation for life sciences and trusted AI agents. Enovalife contributes deep sector knowledge and proven integration capabilities. Together we aim to help customers accelerate their AI transformation, improve the consistency of clinical and regulatory processes, and keep human expertise at the heart of innovation.”
