Orange is launching the fourth season of its documentary series dedicated to African talent, Y'Africa. Each season of the series portrays African talents around a specific theme. For this fourth season, the series is fully devoted to African music. Through Y'Africa, Orange aims to highlight its presence and commitment on the African continent, beyond its commercial activities.

For season four, Orange has partnered with the Trace group. Each week, an episode of the program will be aired on four of the group's channels: starting May 24 on Trace Urban in English-speaking Southern Africa; then on May 25 on Trace Urban in France, the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean (in French), and on May 27 on Trace Africa (in French). Season four, as well as the previous three seasons, will also be available online on the Trace+ app and on Orange's SuperApp, Max it TV. Finally, starting in July 2026, three North African channels will complete the broadcast lineup in the MENA region: 2M in Morocco, and two national channels in Tunisia and Egypt.

A format that has showcased Africa's cultural diversity since 2020
Since February 2020, and across three seasons, 91 portraits of African talents have been filmed through Dan Assayag's inspired lens, celebrating the vitality and diversity of African talent. The first two seasons, dedicated to the world of art, and the third season, focused on elite Olympic and Paralympic athletes, were met with success. Broadcast on 15 African TV channels as well as on social media, excerpts from the series have surpassed 130 million views.

For season four, 90 days of filming were needed to create 18 portraits of exceptional artists. Dan Assayag once again travelled across Africa, stopping in Rwanda, South Africa, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, Morocco, Senegal, Ghana and Tunisia. The journey showcases the African music scene in all its diversity, from rap to electro, including Gnawa, R'n'B, Assouf, flamenco, Mahraganat and many other genres.

The artists featured in season four represent some the best talent of the moment: Andy S (Côte d'Ivoire), Toto le Banzou & Arii (Côte d'Ivoire), Angell Mutoni (Rwanda), Kaya Byinshii (Rwanda), Aza Andrea (Cameroon), Hermann Teutu (Cameroon), Azu Tiwaline (Tunisia), Koast (Tunisia), Faada Freddy (Senegal), Tidiane Thiam (Senegal), Izouran N-Sahara (Morocco), Meteor Airlines (Morocco), Mohamed Abozekry (Egypt), Shobra El General (Egypt), Santrofi (Ghana), XlimKid (Ghana), Dope Saint Jude (South Africa) and Internet Girl (South Africa).

A growing Y'Africa community on social media
Launched in July 2023, the Y'Africa Facebook page now brings together more than 800,000 followers passionate about culture and will continue to showcase talent from the African continent. The YouTube channel has recorded more than 3.6 million views since November 2022. An Instagram page, opened in December 2025 for season four, shares the director Dan Assayag's impressions during filming and has already gathered more than 28,000 followers.
The first three seasons of the series are still available as podcasts. Season four will join the collection this summer.

Caroline Guillaumin, Orange Executive Vice President of Communications, said: “Y'Africa is a concept that fully embodies the way Orange wants to engage on the continent: with sincerity, proximity and a commitment to quality. This fourth season pays tribute to African music scenes—their diversity, their energy and their ability to develop inspiring talent. Through this series, Orange continues to build bridges between the Group's values and the diversity of cultures in Africa and the Middle East.”

Dan Assayag, director of the series, said: “This season was an amazing experience bringing us face to face with pure talent. It even made us forget sometimes that we were filming. I'm thinking of the voice and flow of Angell Mutoni, a rapper from Kigali, or Mohamed Abozekry's virtuosity on the oud in Cairo. They were playing for us and we were fully aware we witnessing something unique. Being in the studio with these artists breaks down all barriers—it's like being in a lab where you test, you experiment, you have fun. In Yaoundé or Cape Town, music is music.”
