Digital technology is great but not without risks

While digital tools promote discovery, learning, and connection, today’s tech also presents challenges, especially for younger generations. In France alone, 23% of children say they’ve experienced cyberbullying. We launched the #ForGoodConnections initiative in 2024 with the simple idea of using sport as a way to teach kids the basics of responsible digital behavior. In 2025, the program is growing, with events in 25 countries combining sports activities, educational workshops, and conversations with experts. The goal is clear: help young people find a healthy balance between their online and offline lives.

Champions leading the waye

Who better than athletes to talk to kids about respect and fair play? In every country, well-known ambassadors are joining the cause. In Romania, 170 children got to dive into the pool with Olympic swimming champion David Popovici. In Slovakia, a former national hockey player shared his personal tips for managing screen time with young players.

Kids are very receptive when the message comes from someone they look up to. Even if things have moved on since his playing days, Mikael Hansosch’s authentic approach made a big impact, and that’s what counts

Local actions with a cultural fit

In Morocco, Orange teamed up with the Ministry of Education to raise awareness among 280 young people through conferences and the educational game, “Les Ateliers du Numérique”. The concept is now part of 12 football events reaching 480 children. In Senegal, football was also the classroom. Over three weekends, 150 young people took part in workshops on topics ranging from screen time to online safety.

Helping kids reconnect with what matters most: their passions, their friends, and a balanced use of screens

After the success of the 2024 edition, Orange is expanding #ForGoodConnections in France. On June 4, 2025, more than 2,100 children will take part in events in nine cities across mainland France, as well as in Réunion and Martinique. On partner club fields, they will join sports demonstrations and online safety workshops led by more than 200 Orange employee volunteers.

For over six years, we’ve been running cyberbullying awareness workshops with amateur football clubs. This year gives us a fantastic opportunity to take that partnership with the French Football Federation even further
