Accelerating fiber transition while maintaining our copper network

Orange s'engage et investit pour garantir l’accès de tous à une expérience et une offre de service de qualité sur ses réseaux fixes partout sur le territoire, y compris sur la technologie cuivre.

Orange invests so that everyone can access and enjoy a high-quality fixed service experience across France, including via the legacy copper network.

€500 million ongoing investment in our copper network

At the same time as rolling out fiber throughout France, the Group is also following a comprehensive action plan for maintaining the copper network. We are committed to expanding our network maintenance budget, allocating €500 million in 2021 alone. We have also increased the proportion of preventative maintenance operations by 24% in 2021 compared to 2018 for each active copper line.

Combining a recruitment drive to boost our call-out technician teams with the use of groundbreaking artificial intelligence tools, the Group has the resources it needs to proactively address any weak points. There are also local plans in place with the means to address underperforming areas, and additional services such as loaning mobiles to fixed telephony customers to ensure call continuity in the event of a fault.

Finally, Orange is working to migrate customers to fiber as soon as it is available. More than 24 million households were already eligible for FTTH offers by the end of 2020.
