What does this appointment as Chairman of Orange’s Board of Directors mean to you?

Frédéric Sanchez: This appointment is both an honor and a source of pride. I’m aware of the responsibility that this means and represents. I’m also approaching it with humility.

I’d also like to thank and congratulate Jacques Aschenbroich, my predecessor, who has done a great job. I’m delighted that he will remain on the Board of Directors. He built a strong and effective partnership with Christel Heydemann, CEO of the Group, and I hope to do the same.

What is your role as Chairman of the Board?

F.S.: As Chairman of the Board, my role is to lead and facilitate the Board’s work, making sure the Group’s major strategic, financial, social, and technological priorities are seriously discussed and collectively decided upon.

Christel Heydemann leads the Group on a day-to-day basis, and she does that extremely well. My role is to give her and the teams the best possible support to carry that leadership forward. It’s a true partnership built on trust and complementary experience, essential for ensuring effective governance to support Orange and all its stakeholders.

How familiar were you with the Group before taking on this role?

F.S.: I have been chairing Orange’s Strategy and Technology Committee since 2020. That experience has given me an in-depth understanding of the Group’s strategic challenges.

Orange has just launched its new “Trust the future” strategic plan. What does that ambition mean to you?

F.S.: Trust is at the heart of the project we have built and developed together with Christel Heydemann and her teams, and which the Board has approved. Our objective is clear: to be a trusted partner for our customers, whether businesses or private individuals.

Trust the future, is also about declaring loud and clear that we are confident in the future and in our ability to continue to create value. At the same time, the plan reflects our commitment to continue transforming the company.
