Orange Digital Investment, Orange’s Corporate Venture Capital holding company dedicated to innovation

Since 2007, the Orange Group has committed more than 750 M€ to its Corporate Venture Capital activity. Orange Digital Investment is used to finance and support innovation and transformation by investing in both venture capital and natural capital funds and by exploring new business opportunities with the startups in the portfolios of the venture funds. The aim is to create value through innovation in a responsible manner for Orange and our wider ecosystem.

Our mission

Orange Digital Investment holds the Group’s commitments in terms of venture capital and natural capital fund investments. This includes the internally managed Orange Ventures fund and ~20 externally managed funds. This Corporate Venture Capital activity supports innovation by improving our access to various Telco-related ecosystems and their innovative startups. In some cases, this can lead to commercial, technological and strategic partnerships with fund portfolio companies

How our investments help create sustainable value

Orange Digital Investment holds Orange’s 350 M€ engagement in the internal Orange Ventures fund and additional engagements of circa 400 M€ in funds managed by external management companies.

These external funds mainly have investment thesis which are focused on specific technologies, geographies and investment stages. In this way more than 500 companies have been directly or indirectly financed by Orange’s Corporate Venture Capital activity since 2007. The Group looks to see if and how these companies can work with Orange to help drive innovation, sales, operational efficiency and digital transformation. Some external funds cover natural capital and contribute to the Orange Group’s ambition to reach Net Zero Carbon by 2040, 10 years ahead of the Paris Agreement objective.
