Objective Net Zero Carbon
by 2040
Reducing our carbon footprint is an ambitious challenge that requires collective action. To meet it, we’re undertaking a major transformation of our activities and our broader ecosystem: redesigning our networks to make them more energy-efficient, deploying innovative solutions through our Green ITN program, and increasing the share of renewable energy in our mix. But we also know that we can’t do it alone. A significant portion of our emissions comes from our value chain. Our Partners to Net Zero Carbon program brings suppliers together in a shared effort. Because we know this to be true: our environmental transition will only succeed if suppliers, customers, and our entire ecosystem move forward with a common commitment.

climate adaptation
As climate risks intensify, we are strengthening our infrastructure to make it more resilient and to create new opportunities for public safety and continuity of service. Our real-time alert systems (FR-Alert in France and BE-Alert in Belgium) use radio waves to immediately notify populations facing natural disasters. We also develop solutions such as SafetyCase, a stand-alone telecom device that keeps operating when networks and power supplies fail. This ensures continuity of essential services during critical events.

Through our RE program, we collect, recycle and refurbish mobile phones. Since device manufacturing represents the largest part of the digital sector’s environmental impact, giving a phone a second life is one of the simplest ways to preserve natural resources. We also go further. Products designed under the Orange brand follow an eco-design approach. Our Livebox 7, for example, is certified “Footprint Progress” by Bureau Veritas. Eco-design means considering a product’s environmental impact from the very first steps of its development.
