Tigist Assefa

« I was born to run. »

Tigist Assefa, born in Ethiopia in 1994, is an athlete specializing in mid- and long-distance running. At the last Berlin Marathon in September 2023, she smashed the world record by going under the 2 h 12 min mark for the first time, with a time of 2 h 11 min 53 s. This feat made her the new marathon queen and a favorite for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

 

 

Amane Beriso Shankule

Born in 1991, Amane Beriso is an Ethiopian athlete specializing in long-distance running. She is an established athlete in her discipline. In 2022, Amane Beriso became the world's third best female performer of all time in the Valencia Marathon, clocking a time of 2 hrs 14 mins 58 secs. In August 2023, she won the marathon at the world championships in 2 h 24 min 23 s, ahead of her compatriot, Amane Beriso.
Gotytom Gebreslase. The Ethiopian marathon runner and current world champion is one of the favorites for Paris 2024.

Tamirat Tola

« I don’t worry about fame. All I want is to do what is expected from me. »

Tamirat Tola is an Ethiopian athlete born in 1993. A specialist in long-distance running, particularly marathons, Tamirat Tola is renowned for his performances and prestigious titles. World team cross-country champion in 2015 and runner-up in the world half-marathon in 2016, it was in 2020 that the Ethiopian athlete began to shine in the marathon. The record holder for the fastest time in several marathons, including those in Amsterdam and New York, Tamirat reached the grail in 2022 by winning the world championships in Eugene. His exceptional performances make him a serious contender for a medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
